December 12th the New Zion Women in Faith met for their annual Christmas party. Eleven women gathered in the Sunrise Room to share stories, poems, songs, and refreshments. A game of “favorites” was played. Gifts were presented to each person present in. Everyone contributed to the success of this event.
Plans were finalized for starting the new year. Soup and Sandwich luncheons are set for January 26th, February 23rd and March 23rd immediately following the worship service. Tammy Phelps is leading in January. The donations for a mission will go to the Selway family who serve CRU at Ohio University. Members signed up to present programs and to be hostess for the regular meetings each month. The reading program will be revised early in the year.
At the end of each year, the group selects several causes to support. The treasury is emptied, leaving only enough to get the next year started. Contributions of $400 each will be given to Salvation Army, Life Wise Academy, Good Neighbors in the Village, and Baltimore-Thurston Food Pantry.
