Noodle Making 2025

By Tammy Phelps

Bright and early Monday morning, July 7th noodle making 2025 began with Joanne Miller and Tammy Phelps arriving to mix up the noodle dough before others arrived. In the days leading up to the 7th, supplies were purchased, and the basement was set up along with the needed equipment for our task. Nine to eleven people helped with a variety of noodle making tasks, for three days.

In between rolling out the dough and starting to cut the noodles, the group was provided with a mid-morning meal. These scrumptious meals were provided by Terryann McCoy and Vickie Congrove, Luci Snyder and Joanne Miller, and Tammy Phelps. While allowing us a much-needed break, it also allowed us to have food, fellowship and fun during our day.

This year we made 185 pounds of noodles in three days. 75 pounds will go to the Liberty Union Athlete/Band Boosters for their concession stand at the Fairfield County Fair, 6 pounds will be reserved for the Chicken Noodle Soup during the winter Soup and Sandwich Luncheons. The remaining 104 pounds are available for the congregation to purchase for $5.25 per pound. When purchasing noodles, please put your exact payment in an envelope with your name on it, then put it in Ann Arebalo’s mailbox. Make sure to sign the sheet on the front of the freezer when you take out your noodles.

Special thanks goes to the following people for their assistance with noodles: Joanne Miller, Ann Arebalo, Helen Bible, Vickie Congrove, Brenda Hanna, Janet McClaskey, Dana Lochard, Terryann McCoy, Ken McCoy, Julia Miller, Rick Miller, Tammy Phelps, Steve Phelps, Christie Rathgaber, Susan Slone, Luci Snyder, Ethan, Ken McCoy, Rick Miller and Steve Phelps. Without these people there would be no noodles!

Just a reminder:  Our noodles do not contain preservatives; therefore, they must be kept in the freezer until ready to use.
